Hopes for the seas.

Sea of Thieves.

A game that came out nearly a year ago (March 20th, 2018), frankly, struggled for the majority of it's first year. A moderate sized group of players bought the game at launch to see if the game was what every one expected, but was let down by what they got and the game fizzled out pretty quickly.
Now, nearly a year later, thanks to some live streamers such as: Summit1G, the game has taken on new life.

My theory is that many people (myself included) saw Sea of Thieves as a player-versus-environment venture, that really does take long to play through, and starts to feel a little lacking after a while.
What people didn't realize, was that there is an entire other 50% of the game which is: Player Versus Player.

Seeing the shenanigans that can happen, the intense combat, the struggle over booty, and the balance of the games player equipment changed the hearts of many who had let the game float on by (pun intended).

I am extremely hopeful for the game, as I have made it one of my main games to stream on Wednesday nights, however here is a brief list of things I would love to see added to the game:

> New enemies - I would love to see more tail-of-the-seas, and general fantasy type characters added. Things like Fairy islands, Dragons, Giant crabs/other sea creatures, and maybe some human-NPC pirate legends for special quests (out on the seas and maybe some specific rare island spawns, where if a player talks to the pirate legend they can pick a fight and defeat the pirate for great bounty).

> Increased server size - I believe the current amount of players on each server is 6. Perhaps 10 would be a good increase. 12 might be too many people, but 6 is rather lacking and hard to find people if PvP is what a player is seeking. There are 'low level' areas that seem to attract players, but the loot is pretty poor, so the payoff for PvP is, well, poor.

> Perhaps some really rare on-map collectables that give appearance changes; to the player themselves and their ship. Like maybe a really rare sunken loot-able ship that would yield a new hull for the players ship, or a sword stuck in the sand or a rock on an island that yields a sword skin.

Those are the only things to date that I personally would like to see done with the game, Sea Of Thieves.

The game is currently in a very good place; streamers bringing popularity to it, very solid gameplay, scary encounters every time you log in and an ever changing adventure with players constantly trying to take your loot. All that needs to happen now is begin working on more content.
Sadly, the landscape of games today is that either players need to be able to create new ways to play, or the game creator needs to keep updating and changing the game to keep players interested. I think Rare has the ability to keep Sea of Thieves relevant and exciting for a long time, they just need to start working on it. Now.
